Ithaca Catholic Worker

In addition to the practices of hospitality that we offer at the Peter De Mott Catholic Worker House, the ICW is focusing our attention, learning, and reflection on a central theme, that is, Nonviolently Resisting US Militarism and Global Domination. This includes, but is not limited to, ending all war(s), de-militarizing and disarming ourselves, our communities, and our world, and finding ways to express the Gospel calling to love one another by, first, not killing each other with US weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear. We believe that this focus must always be seen within the context of what Dr. Martin Luther King calls the giant triplets – racism, materialism, and militarism (adding climate disaster) and how these “isms” intersect with each other. PLEASE check out our calendar for roundtable / clarification of thought topics on our theme.
